Mission

In 1956, community leaders feared that hometown jobs and businesses would shrink as motorists sped by on new Interstate highways. To save these towns, Congress limited the sale of food and fuel sales at Interstate rest areas.

Our partnership supports this law, which has enabled jobs, businesses and communities to thrive along Interstate routes.
